Where’s Robby?

April 16, 2009 | 16 Comments

You may have noticed something a little different tonight during MercyMe’s set.  Robby Shaffer, the drummer for MercyMe could not be found on found onstage, in his place was Jason Jamison of Tenth Avenue North.  Robby was not here tonight because he just became the proud new father of a baby girl.  Bart said they would give him a few days off.  That was nice of him.

This video is just a small taste of Jason rocking out with MercyMe.

backstage

Tonight was a crazy night for The RoadshowTV.  We didn’t have great wireless capabilities but we were able to have some fun.  Aside from the normal streaming here are some things we gave you tonight.

  • Sidewalk Prophets joined us back stage for a video chat and an exciting cover of Billie Jean by Michael Jackson.
  • Charlie Millard gave us his version Eye Of The Tiger by Survivor
  • Bart Millard of MercyMe took us back stage during Jeremy Camp giving us an exclusive back stage look right before they take the stage.
  • During MercyMe’s set, we brought the camera on stage for a chance to see what Bart sees from the stage
  • Hawk Nelson met us after the show for their typical tomfoolery.

Don’t forget to check out The RoadshowTV next Thursday as The Roadshow takes the stage in Denver, CO.

I am expecting some pretty crazy things tonight.  We arrived in Dallas, TX this morning at the American Airlines Center, a room with a capacity of 12,000 people.  But that is not why I am expecting things to get crazy.  Dallas is home to Addison Road and MercyMe.  Along with friends and family, Roadshow-ers are going to fill this place tonight to have a great night and worship our Lord together.

On top of that there is an additional crew here setting up for a live television broadcasting.  I have seen a little bit of live television in my day and cameras tend to make people go just a little bit crazier.  I am excited to hear the energy from the crowd and energy given back from the bands.  Tonight will be amazing.

The show will be broadcast through Daystar at 7:30 pm  (Please check with you local listing for a specific channel).

Roll Call: Who’s coming to the show in Dallas tonight?

MercyMe couldn’t be happier to be traveling with the bands that are on The Roadshow with them. They are especially happy about Jeremy Camp being out on the road with them.

Donor Pass

I have been receiving a lot of questions asking about the Donor Pass Special.  Hopefully this will answer the majority of those questions and give you an idea as to why you would want to partake in the Donor Pass Special.

Entry into The Roadshow costs only $10.00.  Costs for The Roadshow far exceed what is made on tickets sales alone.  Part of the proceeds will go to support the ministry of The Roadshow.  What is the ministry of The Roadshow?  That is a good question.  Every night I hear comments thanking us that entry is only $10.00.  Without that price, many people could not afford to come.  People are able to bring large groups of unsaved friends and family, and people who simply need the time of worship.  At The Roadshow, people will have the opportunity to hear the message of Christ and join in His worship.

Proceeds will also go to help find a cure for juvenile diabetes.  The lead singer of MercyMe, Bart Millard, knows all to well about juvenile diabetes.  His son was diagnosed when he was 2 years old, and since that time Bart has started Imagine A Cure, a non-profit organization created to help support research that will lead to a cure for juvenile diabetes.

mm_soundcheck_again
Early this morning we were back at work again. Continuing to check and put final touches on the stage lights, cameras, and video. The guys from MercyMe were up and about sound checking at 10:00 giving the crew a chance to do a dress rehearsal of sorts. Meanwhile the rest of the bands are trickling in for their sound checks which are scheduled to start in a couple of hours.

As we approach show time, the stage looks amazing. The layout, lights, and video are all designed to enhance the live experience. The way things are looking at sound checks alone, I am excited to see the final production. Hope to see you here.
